A. Cost: $99.95 for Full License. The Retail Disc Version Costs a further $10.00 to ship worldwide. On top of that, if you buy 2 Licenses then you’ll save 7%, if you buy 5 Licenses then you’ll save 15%, and if you buy 10 Licenses then you’ll save 22%.

AA. What Formats Can The Program Open And What Can It Convert To ? – Well, the program can open PDF Files and .TXT Files. It can convert them into Excel, Word, CSV Spreadsheet’s, PowerPoint, Publisher, Open Office Documents, HTML, and Image files in BMP, JPG, JPEG, JPE, JIF, JFIF, JFI, PNG, GIF, TIF, and TIFF.

It can also do batch conversions and convert multiple PDF files at the same time to any format listed above, and it also allows users to convert PDF files to an AutoCAD format, which we didn’t test. On top of that, you can also import other files, such as text files, Word files and more, and then convert them into PDF files.

AAA. Is The Program Worth The Price ? – 3.0Average” – Well, yes, it’s cheaper than Able2Extract PDF Converter and comes with all of the same features too. If you want the ability to convert PDF text/image documents into a word document, HTML format, PowerPoint, or as simple picture files then you will be a happy chappy with the program itself. In our opinion, the program, as well as all PDF Programs, need to be cheaper really.

————————–

B. Installation PDF Converter Elite 5 for Windows – 5.0Excellent“ – Fast, Safe and Simple

BB. Un-installing PDF Converter Elite 5 for Windows – 5.0Excellent“ – Fast, Safe and Simple

C . Stability Of Program – 4.5Great” – It was extremely stable and has never locked up or crash on me yet. Every conversion was very stable and never gave the program or my system any issues.

————————–

1. Ease Of Use – 4.5Great” – Literally, the easiest conversion programs I have ever had the pleasure of using. It’s just as easy to use as Able2Extract 11.0.2, which we reviewed earlier this week. It has the simplest layout, conversion format and options available in a program. Everything is extremely easy to work out, and it becomes very easy to use within a matter of seconds.

1A. Interface – 4.5Great” – Strictly an accessible professional interface layout, with not too many options to confuse and disorientate users. Everything is located on the toolbar at the top of the program or in the menus above them, and shows a very tidy, professional and effective lay out. It also very easy to see, choose and customize conversion options.

1B. Start-Up – 4.5Great” – Starting up the program from a cold start is great, as there is no lag or hanging or waiting, as it loads within 2-3 seconds of clicking the button to start it up.

————————–

2. Quality Of PDF Conversions – 4.5Great” – A very fast PDF converter, depending on what you convert. We performed multiple tests in which we converted three different PDF files into every available conversion format, that we listed above. Each conversion took between 1-3 minutes.

2A. Text/Image PDF File – 4.5Great” – We converted PDF files that consisted of both text and images (screengrabs), which were between 20 and 100 pages long. Every conversion was perfect and displayed every image and piece of text in the correct format and layout, but unfortunately, with the PowerPoint format, the text ran off of the document to the right, meaning that text was lost in the conversion. Meanwhile, the conversions to Excel, Open Office and Publisher all translated over quite well, with just the minor issues, like images and text not looking quite right in terms of size to each other, but that might have been our own personal preferences really.

The other formats were HTML and Image files, such as JPG, PNG, BMP, GIF and TIFF. With the HTML format, it compiled all of the converted images on to separate html files, then it created an html file that you can name yourself, so that you could browse through each slide in a browser like a PowerPoint presentation, and while this option works on Mozilla Firefox, while both online and offline, it only works on Google Chrome when you are online, but doesn’t work in an offline mode.

When if comes to the image formats, All of them open up perfectly in Microsoft Paint and look identical, but in some other programs I use, the TIFF file won’t open (which is my own fault because the program doesn’t accept TIFF files) and in the same program, the BMP image comes out yellow, while it is fine in Paint.

2B. Progress Or Percentage (%) Bar – 4.0Great” – Yes, on all PDF file conversions, the program will provide you with a progress bar, but the problem is that all of the PDF files we used, and while the percentage bar was shown clean and clear, alongside the progress bar, it was small and could be hard to see for those who don’t have perfect vision.

————————–

3. Updating – 2.0Poor” – There is an update function in this program, but it only pops up when you open the program. There is no update button if you close the tab and continue to use the program, meaning that you’ll have to close the program and re-open it again. Also, when you do click the button to update the program, it takes you their site to download a new .EXE file, and even then, you have to uninstall the version of the program installed on your computer before you can install the newly updated .EXE file that you just downloaded. It’s not very efficient really,

4. Running Other Programs At The Same Time – 4.5Great” – Yes, no matter if your converting PDF file, checking directories, you can still use other programs, but beware that ALL PDF converting programs will take up some of your computers processing power, and the Able2Extract PDF Converter for Windows is no exception.

5. Leaving The Program Running With Little Or No Issue – 4.5Great” – You definitely can, you can leave the program to convert PDF files while you get on with other things on your computer, but all file conversion programs are dependent on your computers CPU power, so running other programs will slow down PDF conversions. The best thing is to just let Able2Extract PDF Converter for Windows use all of your CPU power to convert the files as quickly as possible and go blink your eyes in the meantime, because once you’re done, the conversion will be finished.

————————–

My Overall Score: 55 / 60

91.6 % = A+

————————–

My Final Verdict – PDF Converter Elite 5 for Windows is very easy to use once, and is not confusing for first time users. This means the layout and interface is very professional, and doesn’t need to be changed. It basically gives you ability to convert PDF files into Microsoft Office documents, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint. It also allows PDF files to be converted to HTML files, and images, including PNG, BMP, JPG, GIF and TIFF. The program is safe to use for all users regardless of background knowledge and file converting experience. PDF Converter Elite 5 for Windows will need a new update at some point to fix the horrible issues surrounding updating the program, because to uninstall it everytime to re-install a newer version is not practical in today’s world. It needs to be done seamlessly like how Skype does it, which updates automatically when you open it, and, usually, doesn’t require a fresh EXE file to be downloaded and then installed.

3. Updating – 0.0 “Abysmal” – Unfortunately, like previous versions of this program, there is no update button at all in this program, only the register program button. This means that when future versions of the program are released, you’ll need to download them all from scratch and re-register it all over again. Hopefully the activation key for this program can be used in the future versions of Able2Extract,

Able2Extract PDF Converter Professional for Windows may need a new build at some point to add in an update option, which is still lacking in this build, and also wasn’t present in Able2Extract 9, but overall, it’s a very stable, professional and easy to use program, that allows conversions to multiple formats. We’d easily recommend this for text/image documents, as well as purely image or text based files as well.

Collageit Pro – (1.9.5) – Full Paidware Review

April 23, 2015

Name Program: Collageit Pro

AA. Cost: $19.90 USD

BB. Is Collageit Pro Worth The Price ?: Well that all depends if you are into this type of art/hobby. Otherwise it is not very useful outside that spec of devoted people.

1. Ease Of Use – Very simple, choose a template, add photos / pictures, arrange them, size them, rinse and repeat.

1A. Interface – Very easy to understand. So easy I’m gonna have to say it is idiot proof.

2. Quality Of Collageit Pro – Well that will depend vastly on your printer. You could have a killer collage, but have a crappy printer and your efforts will be vastly demised. Keep it online though and you’ll suffer very little from the latter issue.

3. Can You Run Other Programs While Running Collageit Pro ? : Yes, you can with no real drain on your PC at all.

4. Can You Leave Collageit Pro Running With Little Or No Issue ? : You definitely can.

7. Is YouTube Collageit Pro Stable ? : Yes, this program is very stable, and we never had any stability issues regardless of task.

—————————————————–

Overall score for Collageit Pro” (1.9.5) is a 3 out of 5 The main reason for the score is there is a very limited sector of people who would find this software remotely useful. But saying that, if you are into this type of art project, then this will be right up your ally.

“SnowFox’s” YouTube Downloader HD For Windows (2.2.0.0) – Freeware Review

October 19, 2011

AA. Cost: Free

BB. Is “SnowFox’s” YouTube Downloader HD Worth The Price ?: This program is completely free, down from $19.99 USD, so yes it is very worth the price. so you will be a happy chappy with the free price point for this product.

1. Ease Of Use – To begin with, this is very difficult to use, as there is no input box to add your URL from YouTube, you have to copy your URL from YouTube first, then click on the “+” button, which sounds a bit ridiculous, and redundant to me. Next up when you allow the program to select the outgoing file formats for saving the video, the program doesn’t always allow you to save videos in the format you’d like them to be in. For example SD 360p videos are only available in FLV format, whereas other YouTube Downloader programs allow you to download 360p videos in both FLV, and MP4 formats.

1A. Interface – This program’s interface is really not aimed at those who don’t know what they’re doing, it would confuse and annoy a lot of people, there are many options which could confuse and disorientate users, its not very tidy, with a huge advertisement planted in the middle of the program, which isn’t even related to the program in question.

2. Quality Of YouTube Downloader HD – A very fast video downloader, that allows  users to get what videos they want from YouTube at a fast pace, with even HD 720p videos downloading very quickly, but this does depend on your Internet connection.

2A. YouTube to MP4/FLV Files  – We downloaded a HD 720p video from YouTube, and it saved as a standard MP4 file, which is what other YouTube Downloaders also export 720p videos into. Then we downloaded a SD 360p, and SD 480p video from YouTube, and it only allowed us to save the video in an FLV format, whereas other programs of the same caliber allowed users to save the videos in either FLV or MP4. This added format needs to be added to later iterations of the program.

3. Updating – The update button is found in the “?” circle, which is underneath the close program (X) button, where the update button is called “Check for Updates”, which when you press it links you to the servers for the program and updates it accordingly.

4. Can You Run Other Programs While Running “SnowFox’s” YouTube Downloader HD ? : Yes, no matter if your converting YouTube Videos, checking directories, you can still use other programs, but beware that with all downloading programs, it will completely depend on the speed, and strength of your Internet connection.

4A. Can You Run Programs During The Update Process? : Yes, if you’re updating the YouTube Downloader HD, then you can still use other programs, without any slowdown.

5. Is There A Progress Or Percentage (%) Bar ? : Yes, on all video conversions, the program will provide you with a progress bar, an average time frame for how long the file will take to convert, how much of the video has downloaded compared to the total file size, as well as how long the file has been downloading, along with how much time is left for the download.

6. Can You Leave YouTube Downloader HD Running With Little Or No Issue ? : You definitely can, you can leave the program to convert YouTube Videos into the export files while you get on with other things on your computer, but all download programs are dependent on your Internet connection, so running this program to download videos might slow down your Internet connection, and make other web-pages load slower.

7. Is YouTube Downloader HD Stable ? : Yes, this program is very stable, and we never had any stability issues. The program is very stable during conversions for file downloads We’re happy to mark this program as 100% stable.

—————————————————–

Overall score for “SnowFox’s” YouTube Downloader HD (2.2.0.0) is a 3 out of 5 “SnowFox’s” YouTube Downloader HD is very easy to use once you get used to it, but it is quite confusing for first time users. The layout and interface isn’t the most professional I’ve ever seen, and needs to be changed. It basically gives you ability to download YouTube videos and save them as MP4, and FLV files on your computer. The program is safe to use for all users regardless of background knowledge and file converting experience. “SnowFox'” YouTube Downloader HD may need some updates to improve the layout, and to add the expressed file formats. Even though, we’d recommend this program for the more experienced users who download a lot of videos.

WonderShare’s PDF to Word Converter For Windows (3.0.0) – Freeware Review

September 1, 2011

AA. Cost: Completely Free

BB. Is PDF to Word Converter Worth The Price ?: Well its free, so yes it is very worth the price. If you want the ability to convert PDF text/image documents into a word document, then you will be a happy chappy with the free price point for the PDF to Word Converter.

1. Ease Of Use – One of the easiest conversion programs I have ever had the pleasure of using, it’s very easy to work out where everything is, and it becomes very easy to use within minutes.

1A. Interface – Strictly an accessible professional interface layout, with not too many options to confuse and disorientate users, its very tidy, and everything is laid out very effectively.

2. Quality Of PDF Conversions – A very fast PDF converter, depending on what you convert, we performed two separate tests.

2A. Text/Image PDF File – We converted a PDF file that consisted of both text and images (screengrabs), which was 11 pages long, and the PDF file was literally converted to a compatible word (.docx) file within 2 minutes, with no issues found in the text or image conversions. But the program did lock up after the conversion had finished and closed on its own. This issue needs to be resolved for continuous use of this program.

2B. Complete Image PDF File – The second PDF conversion we did consisted of entirely images, which was 13 pages long, and the converter had real issues here. It wouldn’t convert half of the pages contained in the file, plus it kept coming up with errors when trying to convert and the conversion process took nearly 15 minutes, which then finished up with the program locking up, and ended up forcing the program to close down.

3. Updating – The update button is found in the top right corner by the close program (X) button, where the update button is called “Online Update”, which when you press it links you to the servers for the program and updates it accordingly.

4. Can You Run Other Programs While Running iSkySoft Media Converter ? Yes, no matter if your converting PDF file, checking directories, you can still use other programs, but beware that ALL PDF converting programs will take up some of your computers processing power, and PDF to Word Converter is no exception.

4A. Can You Run Programs During The Update Process? Yes, if you’re updating the PDF to Word Converter, then you can still use other programs, without any slowdown.

5. Is There A Progress Or Percentage (%) Bar ? Yes, on all PDF file conversions, the program will provide you with a progress bar, but it doesn’t provide average time frame for how long the files will take to convert.

6. Can You Leave PDF to Word Converter Running With Little Or No Issue ? You definitely can, you can leave the program to convert PDF files while you get on with other things on your computer, but all file conversion programs are dependent on your computers CPU power, so running other programs will slow down PDF conversions. The best thing is to just let PDF to Word Converter use all of your CPU power to convert the files as quickly as possible and go get yourself something to eat and drink in the meantime, luckily being an PDF Converter, this program WILL take up less CPU power than other programs.

7. Is PDF to Word Converter Stable ? Mostly, except for the locking up and automatic closing issues seen during our conversions. The program is very stable during conversions, but just locks up at the end of the file conversions, so this issue along with the automatic program close need to be sorted ASAP to make it 100% stable. For now, we’d place the stability of the program at 80%.

—————————————————–

Overall score for PDF to Word Converter Version (3.0.0) is a 3.5 out of 5 – “PDF to Word Converter” is very easy to use once, and is not confusing for first time users, this means the layout and interface is very professional, and doesn’t need to be changed. It basically gives you ability to convert PDF files into Word documents (basically a docx file). The program is safe to use for all users regardless of background knowledge and file converting experience. PDF to Word Converter may need some updates to improve the stability, but it’s still a very professional and easy to use program, and we’d recommend that they change the update process so that it’s easier to find and easier to use. We’d easily recommend this for text/image documents but not purely image based files.
