How do you decide what is worth reviewing and what is not ?

Remy’s Reply: That’s really a good question. Well often it comes down to what we use and what we don’t use. So we tend to review more software we are already familiar with. But there is always room for suggestions as well as so called software “Hype” from any number of sites. We don’t really have a tried and true review criteria. But we do have software or apps we will not review. Such as games or hacker related software. We also tend to stick to what is useful. For both us and our readership.

Matt’s Reply: When it comes to reviewing a product, we generally decide what is worth reviewing and what isn’t based on what we cover on (CSW), and what we use and what we don’t use. This means that we tend to review the kind of software that we are already familiar with, but we do branch out occasionally into other software programs like media converters, and there is always room for suggestions for what are “Generated Hype” programs from any number of sites.

A lot of the time, our review criteria is tried and true (as evident over the last few years), but it’s not rock solid, as things do change based on certain programs that we get asked to review, and there definitely software or apps that we haven’t or won’t review, including games, hacker related software, and hardware-related software, but generally we will review a lot of software, especially security programs like AVG and SuperAntiSpyware.
