i.TV (1.2.1) – Android App Review

i.TV (1.2.1)

Cost Of App: Free (Google Play App Store)

Is there paid upgrade option ?: No

App Description: (See Below)

The #1 TV guide for iOS is now an Android app. Browse TV listings, find shows available from Netflix and add them to your queue, look up info on IMDb and Wikipedia, and schedule your TiVo DVR!

** We’re not the only ones excited about i.TV coming to Android. i.TV was recently featured by The Next Web, Phandroid, AndroidGuys and was named Gizmodo’s “App of the Day.” **

–Local TV listings based on your service provider (US and Canada).

–Customize channel listings [NEW]

–Bookmark favorite shows

–Schedule your TiVo DVR

–Find and add shows to your Netflix disc or instant queue

–Entertainment news that updates in real time and filter by favorite shows

–Access show information on IMDB and Wikipedia

Are there in App ads ?: No

A. Ease Of Use: 4/5 – Not as easy to use as one would expect.

B. Security: No impact to smart phone or tablet security at all

C. Usefulness: 3/5 – Not anywhere as useful as the online TV guide or virtual TV guide via your TV set top box.

D. Smart phone Slowdown: A little lag

E. Tablet Slow Down: No lag, that I noticed.

F. Type Of User I Would Recommend To Use This App: It’s very useful if you don’t have a set top box or you are away from your main desktop or laptop. Otherwise I recommend the much more useful and detailed TV guide via the Internet or via your own TV set top box.
