I have been getting plenty of e-mails so regarding this issues..So here is yet another Q+A…ENJOY

Q: Does AVG Free Anti-Virus 8.5 Scan Locked Or Password Protected Files ?

A: No AVG Free Anti-Virus does not, because it is unable to crack passwords. If it did it would take a really really long time to run a scan. If AVG did run into a password protected it would skip it it or show it as an error. But that is normal with almost all virus scans I have tested free or paid will maybe give you a warning and others times it will just pretend it was never there.

- Most virus scans you have to check a box to scan Archive files

- Other Virus scans give you an option to give you a warning or it will report sealed or password protected file archives or files that have odd file extensions or unknown or incomplete files.
