You must have 100 points or $10.00 CAD/USD to redeem for a $10.00 Amazon E- Gift Certificates

But to redeem for a Paypal payout. You must have at least 100 points or $10.00 CAD/USD in your account to redeem.

Points or Cash Normally Earned Per Survey: 0 – 100 points

Sign-Up Time: Very Lengthy

How Many Survey Invitations Should You Expect Per Week: 1 – 30 (Generally, you’ll see at least one general invite in your inbox everyday. But saying that does not means you’ll get any points.)

How Long Does It Take To Collect A Reward Or Cash Out: About half a months to 1 year. Doing all the surveys sent to you in full. It really does depend on your level of engagement and interest in Opinion Outpost.

(Sometimes it can take a lot longer, Depending on how much you want before you claim your reward or cash out) -Example $50.00 or $100-

Do They Spam You: No

Overall Rating: 3.5 out of 5Opinion Outpost seems to have smoothed out most of it’s rough edges. Most of the issues that plagued it during my last few review are not completely gone. They are still have been some major hindrances in the overall difficulty of the surveys and qualifying for the rewards. I have often found myself in mid-survey. When I am kicked or glitch-ed out for no reason (What So Ever). I don’t even get the screen. That asks me if I want to try for an Instant Prize/Donate/ or Leave.

That is honestly a really rather sad situation. When we put in the time and effort into said survey. And are receiving ABSOLUTELY nothing in return, other then the run around or just really rather lame excuses why it is our fault. That to me is just unacceptable in every respect.

————————————

Extra Important Information: You must complete your full profile as well as update it at least once a year. To continue to receive your survey invites from Opinion Outpost. If you fail to do so, Opinion Outpost will just stop sending you survey invites to you without any warning at all.

Global Test Market – Survey Site Review (July 2014)

July 7, 2014

Name: Global Test Market

Link: https://www.globaltestmarket.com/index.php

Who Is Eligible To Participate: Pretty Much Anyone

Type Of Award Or Payment: Paypal, Cheque, Sweepstakes Entry’s

(1 point = .05 cents US/CAD) Must Have 1000 Points = $50 USD Minimum To Redeem

Points or Cash Normally Earned Per Survey: 0 – 100

Sign-Up Time: Pretty Lengthy

How Many Survey Invitations Should You Expect Per Week: 0 – 50

How Long Does It Take To Collect A Reward Or Cash Out: Often less the a year

Do They Spam You: No

Overall Rating: 3 out of 5 – Global Test Market survey site has dramatically increased their overall amount of surveys. As oppose to decreasing their overall invites (Like so many other survey sites have been doing at an ever increasing rate). Since my last review way back on (March 2014). I’ve noticed that there are more survey invites worth points as compared to the sweepstakes entries.

X-notifier (3.4.2) – Mozilla FireFox Add-on Review

July 5, 2014

X-notifier (3.4.2)

A. Ease Of Use: 5/5 – Very easy to setup multiple e-mail accounts. On any of several different free mail services. Such as Outlook, AOL, Yahoo, Gmail and many many more.

B. Security: (Very Un-secure) – It gives you a by-pass of all your passwords and usernames. Not recommended for shared and or public computers or for high security e-mail accounts. (I would also avoid any Wi-Fi hotspots as well.)

BB. Other Important Security Information:  Just remember your E-mail account passwords and usernames are view-able in the FireFox Options. Under SecuritySaved Passwords

C. Usefulness: 3/5 – If you are lazy like me or just have a really bad memory go for it. Just remember. You are at an SEVERELY ELEVATED risk of your e-mail account(s) being hacked and or hijacked. Due to how easy it is to find and copy your usernames and passwords.

D. FireFox Slowdown: Very minimal for most computers

E. Computer Slow Down: None

F. Type Of User I Would Recommend To Use This Add-on: I would only recommend this add-on for people who are unable to use e-mail without assistance.

**If you are good with the Internet and free e-mail accounts such as Outlook, Gmail, Yahoo and have a good memory. Please try to avoid this potentially massive security risk to your e-mail security and any sensitive data stored there-in.

————————–

A. Installation SUPERAntiSpyware5.0 Excellent” – Fast, Safe and Simple

————————–

C. Stability Of Program5.0 Excellent” – Absolutely no stability issues.

————————–

D. Residential Shield Test - 4.5Great – Very useful and its always great when you can add an extra layer protection to your PC.

DD. Browser Hi-Jack And Registry Protection4.0Great – Great. But there is still no protection for ether Mozilla Firefox or Chrome.

DDD. System Repair Option4.0Great – Used it and it works like a charm. Thou you still should read the descriptions over a few times. Before you decide to use one of the many repair options SUPERAntiSpyware Pro has.

————————–

E. Detection Rate Test:

E1. Windows XP5.0Excellent

E2. Windows Vista5.0Excellent

E3. Windows 7 - 5.0Excellent

E4. Windows 85.0Excellent

————————–

F. Speed of Scan4.0Great – Just as Danny talked about in the freeware version review of SUPERAntiSpyware. It seems instead of decreasing overall scan times. They have actually in some cases increase 10 to 20 minutes overall. But just like Danny said “We will keep a close eye on the next version to see if this is a new trend.” Or just a blip on an otherwise positive trending direction.

FF. Scan Boost5.0Excellent- This option seems to have remained. So much so even my dual core computers have show at least a 10 to 20 mins differences between using regular or “Low Boost” as oppose to “High Boost” scanning option.

FFF. Types Of Different Scans Available - 5.0Excellent- With 5 different types of scans to suite your fancy. You can’t go wrong regardless of your final choice of scan.

G.Update Manager5.0 Excellent – Works like a charm with no lag at all.

H. Scan Logs3.5Average- The logs could be quite a bit easier to read. But they are in the same league as most programs in this category.

I. SUPERAntiSpyware Support - 3.0Average – You have their “Free, unlimited 24/7 technical support via e-mail”,  “Customer Support Request Form” or “User Forums

**Yes, people I agree it is SUPER lame that SUPERAntiSpyware Pro. The paid version of SUPERAntiSpyware has no phone support or live chat support.

————————–

My Overall Score: 71.5/80

89.3 % = A

————————–

My Overall Outlook: SUPERAntiSpyware remains a very easy and safe program to use. SUPERAntiSpyware is truly your one stop shop for Spyware, Adware, Malware and Internet Cookie detection and removal.

————————–

My Final Verdict: I am very happy to say that other then the scan time increases. SUPERAntiSpyware is all around moving in a positive direction. Also important to note this version is nearly identical from the last version of SUPERAntiSpyware.

V. 7.0 C“SAS” Freeware Review Template

————————–

Price: Free

A. Installation SUPERAntiSpyware5.0 Excellent” – Fast, Safe and Simple

B. Un-installing SUPERAntiSpyware3.5Average – No start menu un-install feature. But you can un-install using your Windows control panel.

————————–

C. Stability Of Program5.0 Excellent” – Absolutely no stability Issues

————————–

D. Residential Shield TestN/A – Not available In Free version

DD. Browser Hi-Jack And Registry ProtectionN/A – Not available In Free version

DDD. System Repair OptionN/A – Not available In Free version

————————–

E. Detection Rate Test:

E1. Windows XP5.0Excellent

E2. Windows Vista5.0Excellent

E3. Windows 7 - 5.0Excellent

E4. Windows 85.0Excellent

————————–

F. Speed of Scan4.0Great – It might just be me. But it seems scan times have gone up instead of down in this latest version. I’m not sure why, but I’ll be on the look out during the next SUPERAntiSpyware version. Just to see if this is the new trend for the program moving forward.

FF. Scan Boost5.0Excellent- This option seems to have vastly improved (yet again). So much so even my dual core computers have show at least a 10 to 20 mins differences between using regular or “Low Boost” as oppose to “High Boost” scanning options.

FFF. Types Of Different Scans Available - 5.0Excellent- With 5 different types of scans to suite your fancy. SuperAntiSpyware has all the different types of scans you’ll need. For any job you want to tackle.

G.Update Manager4.5Great – Needs to be updated manually. But works like a charm with no lag at all. As SUPERAntiSpyware has implemented smaller definition updates. There are also a lot more definitions updates available to be manually updated.  Which is great to see.

H. Scan Logs3.5 Average” – The logs could be quite a bit easier to read. But they are in the same league as most programs in this category.

I. SUPERAntiSpyware Support3.5Average – You have their “Customer Support Request Form” or “User Forum” options.

————————–

My Overall Score: 59/65

90.7 % = A +

————————–

My Overall Outlook: SUPERAntiSpyware still remains an extremely effective anti-spyware / malware program. (Even in it’s free version package.) You are not choked to death with excessive over the top software limitations, like so many other freeware programs out there. You are still required to update SUPERAntiSpyware manually and you can still use SUPERAntiSpywares 5 different scanning options (minus of course the scan scheduler option).

The only 2 very minor downsides that I can see, are that you have to manually scan and manually update SuperAntiSpyware yourself. (But for most people that is not even a very big deal. Because we already do it anyways with so many other free programs such as Spybot and Malwarebytes.)

————————–

My Final Verdict: I am very happy to say I found quite a few improvements over the last (5.6.1026) version of SUPERAntiSpyware. Such as improvements to the main UI (User Interface) as well as improvements to updating and overall scanning. In all scanning options.

MySurvey – Survey Site Review (June 2014)

June 30, 2014

Name: MySurvey

Links: – https://www.mysurvey.ca (Canadian Site)

- https://www.mysurvey.com (American Site)

Who Is Eligible To Participate: Canadian Or American Residents Only

Type of Award Or Payment: Paypal, E-gift cards, Cash,  Electronics and Sweepstakes entries (There are some reward options. I have not listed here. Check the website to see all the many reward options.)

Points Normally Earned Per Survey: 0 – 1,000  points

Sign-Up Time: Fairly Short

How Many Survey Invitations Should You Expect Per Week: 1 – 35 survey invites a week

Do They Spam You: No

Overall Rating: 3.5 out of 5 – If you do the 1,000 point quarterly purchase diary. You’ll be able to cash out very quickly. But if you stick to the way more common weekly batch of survey invites. You’ll be waiting a little bit longer, before you’ll be able to get what you really want. Seeing as the normal point per survey ration is pretty low points.

NoScript (2.6.8.29) – Mozilla FireFox Add-on Review

June 28, 2014

NoScript (2.6.8.29)

A. Ease Of Use: 3/5 – Not as easy as it should be.

Often people just end up getting very frustrated with this add-on. Which often results in the person deactivating and or un-installing this add-on. But for the people who stick around long enough. End up having a very powerful tool to help stem the tide of pop-ups , banner ads and other Internet annoyances.

B. Security: 4/5 - NoScript is very helpful in securing your computer from a lot of seen and unseen Internet threats. All across the net during your day to day activities. This add-on will not impede your security. Instead it will boost it greatly, If used correctly.

C. Usefulness: 5/5 – NoScript has enhanced my life on the net. By giving me more options to control my day to day Internet experience.

D. FireFox Slowdown: There is some lag (But will vary based on computer stats and your Internet connection)

E. Computer Slow Down: Some minor lag on older computers.

F. Type Of User I Would Recommend To Use This Add-on: A more advanced Firefox user, would find this add-on way more useful. Then a novice.

Nexus Media Importer (7.6.2) – Paidware Android App Review

June 25, 2014

Nexus Media Importer (7.6.2)

Tested On: Asus Nexus 7 (Model: ME37OT) with Android KitKat (V4.4.2) Installed.

Cost Of App: $2.98 CAD (Google Play App Store)

Cost Of 100% (Necessary)USB OTG Cable: Which can run you anywhere from $1.99 CAD/USD to $20.00 CAD/USD. It all depends on which type of plating you go for. You can get a basic model with just a non-coated steel metal connector. And by the way that is basic steel for both ends the min-USB (AKA. Male End of the connector) and the Max-y USB (AKA. Female End of the connector). Or you can go all the way to the gold or platinum plated connectors. Now just because you go all expensive on your USB OTG cable. Does not guarantee the best fit for your device.

Now, I say this as I have bought 4 of these very handy USB OTG cables and have had very mixed results. The platinum or very high end connector actually fit my device on the very low end of the 4 I bought.

Now, I have to point out. I went very OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) here. I wanted the best fit regardless of the price tag. So, I went to my local computer store and asked for the top of the line USB OTG cable they had in stock. That would work with my Nexus 7. So after paying close to $20 CAD. I came back home and tested it out and it was a poor fit. The best fit was the the gold plated one from Amazon.ca. That cost me $6.99 CAD with free shipping. The second best fit was an eBay buy for $3.99 USD also with free shipping. Oddly, enough it did not mention a lot about the type of metal the connectors were plated with. But, if I were to guess with the price point and and magnet test. I ran. (Please don’t run any magnet tests on anything electronic or tech related. You may in fact damage or alter your device. You may even render said device or devices unusable) It is just very common steel alloy mixture or perhaps pure steel. It was not a perfect fit. But better then the so called top end platinum USB OTG cable. At least in my experience. Some cables will be more still and other a little looser. Just don’t force it, nor should you leave the connector on while you are not using your tablet.

App Description: (See Below)

Nexus Media Importer allows you to stream and transfer music, video, photos and documents from a USB flash drive or card reader connected to your Nexus 5, Nexus 7 (G1 & G2), Nexus 10, Moto X, Galaxy Nexus, Xoom or other Android 4.0+ devices with USB Host support. See technical notes for a list of supported file types and file systems. If you have the Nexus 7 2013 or Nexus 10, make sure you update to Android 4.4+ to avoid problems.Update 1: Based on the Android code base, the Nexus 7 2013 WiFi language issue should be fixed int KitKat!

1. An Android 4.0+ device. Known compatible devices include the Google Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 7 & 10 and the Motorola Xoom. Please try the free “Nexus Photo Viewer” first if you do not have one of these devices. Due to hardware limitations, the Nexus 4 is not supported.

2. An USB OTG (On-The-Go) cable. Costs range from $1-10 USD

3. An USB Flash Drive or USB Card Reader with a flash memory card inserted. Please see the FAQ on our website if you are trying to connect an external hard drive or other device.

To use:

-If you are using an card reader, put the flash memory card in the reader first.

-Attach your USB device to the OTG cable.

-Attach the OTG cable to the Nexus or other device.

-The application should launch automatically.

-Photos can be browsed by selecting from the list then swiping back and forth.

-Videos can be streamed with the Play icon.

-The Advanced tab can be used to manage and transfer files.

-Use the Connect screen to determine the viewed device and the destination device for the Copy/Move operations.

Are there in App ads ?: No

A. Ease Of Use: 4.5/5 – Very easy to use once you get use to it.

B. Security: There is the possibility of importing viruses and or other software / files that may in fact damage your device. So caution is advised when trying to important unknown files or software to your Nexus device(s).

C. Usefulness: 4/5 – Very useful. It is an ever expanding application as each new update hits. You can now upgrade your previously non-upgrade-able “Nexus 7 32 Gig Wi-fi version G1 or G2 (Generation 1 or 2).” I still find that running TV shows and or movies off of a USB flash stick or a USB external hard drive. It does tend to skip and buffer like crazy. But if you decide to transfer it to your Nexus 7 and run it off of that. Then you are way more likely to have a buffer free experience.

D. Tablet Slowdown: No slow down, that I noticed.

E. Type Of User I Would Recommend To Use This App: Anyone who wants to drastically increase the usefulness of their Nexus device(s). Will find this app not only useful but needed.
