RR 4.0
WEP or Wired Equivalent Privacy
WEP – is a weak security algorithm for IEEE 802.11 wireless networks. Introduced as part of the original 802.11 standard ratified in September 1999, its intention was to provide data confidentiality comparable to that of a traditional wired network.WEP, recognizable by the key of 10 or 26 hexadecimal digits, is widely in use and is often the first security choice presented to users by router configuration tools.
Although its name implies that it is as secure as a wired connection, WEP has been demonstrated to have numerous flaws and has been deprecated in favor of newer standards such as WPA2. In 2003 the Wi-Fi Alliance announced that WEP had been superseded by Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA). In 2004, with the ratification of the full 802.11i standard (i.e. WPA2), the IEEE declared that both WEP-40 and WEP-104 “have been deprecated as they fail to meet their security goals”.
———————————
A 64-bit WEP key is usually entered as a string of 10 hexadecimal (base 16) characters (0-9 and A-F). Each character represents four bits, 10 digits of four bits each gives 40 bits; adding the 24-bit IV produces the complete 64-bit WEP key. Most devices also allow the user to enter the key as five ASCII characters, each of which is turned into eight bits using the character’s byte value in ASCII; however, this restricts each byte to be a printable ASCII character, which is only a small fraction of possible byte values, greatly reducing the space of possible keys.
A 128-bit WEP key is usually entered as a string of 26 hexadecimal characters. 26 digits of four bits each gives 104 bits; adding the 24-bit IV produces the complete 128-bit WEP key. Most devices also allow the user to enter it as 13 ASCII characters.

Dear Computer Savvy Weblog Team,
I noticed you have not had any more poll since way back when you wrote the AVG 8.5/9.0 Issues and Fixes feature. Might we see any new polls in the near future ?

Might we see any new polls in the near future ?
Reply: At this time I will have to say no. But I have decided to give Deaf @ther the creative freedom if he so desires to add a poll to any page and or post. If I had to guess. I would have to say the next post to get a poll would be a super popular Scam Watch: JustAnswer.com Is It A Scam ? Or Is It Just A Really Bad Investment ? feature.

Dear Readers,
Here is my full review for Core Temp (1.0) RC 2 / 32 Bit version
1. What Does Core Temp Do ? It monitors your CPUs and internal fans and gives you a very accurate temperature read out. Both in your system tray and on your Vista/Win 7 sidebar (If you have Core Temp app running) with the correct up to date widget. So you can tell how hot your computer is running and to be able to prevent possible damage (Via PC automatic Shut Down if it goes above a set temp) as well as improve your overall system performance.
2. Ease Of Use – Core Temp is very easy to use because all you need to do is install it and it is ready to go. In most cases it will auto-detect your CPU’s. There has not been a computer that I have installed it on that did not detect the proper make and number of cores your CPU has.
3. Interface - Very simple. Core temp has a few easy to use options and that is pretty much it. It is by no means fancy, but that is how a CPU temperature app should be. Simple and to the point with no pointless filler. Dragging it down and taking up to much memory.
4. Is Core Temp Stable ? Extremely stable
5. Can You Leave Core Temp Running Without Issue ? Yes, you can no doubt
6. Is There Adware or Spyware Bundled With It ? Yes, there is a VERY NASTY Yahoo Internet Browser Hijacker within this install file. I would HIGHLY recommend doing a custom install and make sure you un-check all 3 boxes. Then you can proceed with the installation with no worries.
I give Core temp an overall rating of 4 out of 5 - This temperature control and read out app is great with a long list of compatible CPU’s it will detect. Core Temp loads up really fast and can be used in conjunction with “ALL CPU Meter” sidebar gadget. To show you your CPU temp in both your system tray and on the actual sidebar. There is just 2 things, I really would want to see in future versions of Core Temp. And that would of course be an update button and an auto load up feature (So it can boot up when ever the you PC is re-booted.)

You can grab this freeware app from the following website: http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/

ImTranslator (4.5)
A. Ease Of Use: 4/5 – A very easy and straight forward add-on. But there are still some settings that can get a bit tedious to newer users.
B. Security: 5/ 5 – 100% safe to use
C. Usefulness: 5/5 – Both my life as a member (CSW) and my life on the net would be a lot harder without this add-on. If you ever wondered how to say something in another language. Or even if you just ran into a site and or blog that is not in your own language.
D. FireFox Slowdown: A slight hiccup of a few seconds when you first select the option.
E. Computer Slow Down: Same as above
F. Type Of User I Would Recommend To Use This Add-on: Any level of Firefox user
