AutoFill Forms (0.9.6.1) – Mozilla FireFox Add-on Review

November 30, 2010

AutoFill Forms (0.9.6.1)

A. Ease Of Use: 4/5 – Getting better with every update. But it takes some getting use to. And short cuts could be way easier to use.

B. Security: 3/5 (Somewhat Un-secure) – If you don’t mind giving all your basic information away. To whom ever is on your computer and decides to load up FireFox. Then you have no problem. This type of information is really easy to get anyways from Google or from your local phone book. If you know one or more pieces of info on said person.

C. Usefulness: 4/5 – Very very useful if you are tired of always filling out online forms from scratch. AutoFill will fill in most online forms with a touch of the pencil icon. But there are still errors to be addressed. But they are not a deal breaker in this case.

D. FireFox Slow Down: None

E. Computer Slow Down: None

F. Type Of User I Would Recommend To Use This Add-on : Any type of FireFox user can benefit from this add-on.

Global Test Market – Survey Site Review (Nov 2010)

November 29, 2010

Name: Global Test Market

Link: http://www.globaltestmarket.com/index.php

Who Is Eligible To Participate: Pretty Much Anyone

Type of Award Or Payment: Points or Sweepstakes Entry’s

(1 point = .05 cents US) Must Have 1000 Points = $50 USD Minimum To Collect

Points or Cash Normally Earned Per Survey: 0 – 100

Sign-Up Time: Pretty Lengthy

How Many Survey Invitations Should You Expect Per Week: 1 – 35

How Long Does It Take To Collect A Reward Or Cash Out: Often less the a year

Do They Spam You: No

The Number of Survey I Have Received Over The Past 8 Years Since Joining Up: I have lost count

Overall Rating: 3 out of 5 – Global Test Market survey site has dramatically increased in overall survey invites since my last review way back on (Aug 2010). Global Test Market has changed somewhat now sending out a mix bag of survey invites that are both worth points and or worth Sweepstakes entries. I am very happy to report it is very easy now to get your 1,000 points or $50 USD, in way less then half a year (6months) I have even seen it earned in 3 months.

Regardless most people are pretty jazzed. When they get there 1,000 points or $50 USD cash out. I know I am……

EPD 17: Fan Mail Friday’s (11/26/2010)

November 26, 2010

Hey Computer Savvy guys,

What the heck is a Continuity Editor ? I ran across the term on your -About CSW- Page under your blog membership job breakdowns.

Stella_Alive

—————————-

Reply: Well, Stella_Alive. Personally I’m very surprised it has taken this long for one of you guys to ask me that Q.

So what is a “Continuity Editor” ?

Well a “Continuity Editor” is the person who makes sure all the review and feature templates remain the same. Making sure the colours match and the links are correct. He also makes sure dates match and that we have the right version code for the program we are reviewing. He basically takes out a lot of the guess work for the rest of the writers on the team. He also tries his best to keep the site up to date, as well as easy as possible to view for you guys.

He would be the one to remove the -New- tags from old reviews and features. This would be the person who checks to see if a post is out of date and weather it needs to be updated by the writer who posted it.

iSkySoft’s iMedia Converter For Windows (3.0.3) – Software Review

November 25, 2010

Name Of Program: iSkySoft’s iMedia Converter for Windows (3.0.3)

AA. Cost: $49.99 USD  For A LIFETIME License

BB. Is iSkySoft’s iMedia Converter For Windows Worth The Price ?: Yes it is. If you want the ability to convert videos into multiple formats, with a variety of HD formats, the ability to crop videos, rotate the footage portrait or landscape. As well as add effects and watermarks onto your video footage. Then you will be extremely happy with the one time $49.99 USD price tag for A LIFETIME License to iSkySoft’s iMedia Converter for Windows.

1. Ease Of Use – One of the more difficult media converter programs to use. But very easy to use once you find out where everything is.

1A. Interface - Very professional, very tidy with everything laid out very effectively.

2. Quality Of Video Conversions – Extremely fast and definitely on par with XiliSoft Video Converter Ultimate 6 in terms of video conversion times. iMedia Converter for Windows does come with the ability to convert footage into pretty much any format available, including Mobile/Cell phones, iPhones/iPods, Games Consoles/Handhelds, MAC’s, PC’s and Laptops. These possible formats also include the added bonus of HD formats at both 720p and 1080p.

One problem I’ve found is after adding a video into the program, which is MP4 and at HD 720p. The videos audio feed will NOT be converted along with it when outputting it as another MP4 HD 720p video. This is an error that NEEDS to be rectified in future versions.

3. Updating – Very fast and easy by going to the help tab and clicking on the “Check for Updates” button.

4. Can You Run Other Programs While Running iSkySoft Media Converter ? Yes, no matter if your converting videos, cropping footage and or adding watermarks. You can still use other programs, but beware that ALL video converting programs will take up a lot of your computers processing power (RAM/CPU) and the iMedia Converter is no exception.

4A. Can You Run Programs During The Update Process? Yes, iSkySoft’s iMedia Converter allows you to do anything you want while the program updates to the latest version.

5. Is There A Progress Or Percentage (%) Bar? Yes, on all video conversions iMedia Converter will provide you with a progress bar. As well as an average time frame for how long the videos will take to fully convert.

6. Can You Leave iMedia Converter Running With Little Or No Issue ? You definitely can, you can leave the program to convert videos while you get on with other things on your computer. But all video conversions are dependent on your computers CPU power, so running other programs will slow down overall video conversions. The best thing is to just let the iMedia Converter use all of your CPU power to convert the videos as quickly as possible.

7. Are There Any Special Additions With iSkySoft iMedia Converter ? Not really, its an impressive video converter with the ability to add effects or watermarks to your video footage as well as being able to flip videos portrait or landscape. You can also trim the video footage to remove things like adverts from TV programs or even crop the video to get ride of things like embarrassing black bars at the top and bottom of video footage.

8. Is iSkySoft iMedia Converter Stable ? Yes, 100%

—————————————————–

Overall score for iSkySoft’s iMedia Converter for Windows (3.0.3) is a 4.5 out of 5 – The iMedia Converter for Windows is easy to use once you find out where everything is. So the overall layout could be a little easier. But the interface is still extremely professional with the ability to rotate, crop, trim, edit videos and effects. As well as watermarks make this program very desirable.

The program is safe to use for all users regardless of background knowledge or video editing experience. The iMedia Converter may look scary and difficult to use, but don’t let that put you off as its a very professional and easy to use program once you’ve worked out where everything is.

The one main negative aspect was that after adding a video into the program, which is MP4 and at HD 720p. The videos audio feed will NOT be converted along with it, when outputting it as another MP4 HD 720p video. This is an error that NEEDS to be rectified in future versions.
