Results breakdown:
Passed – Did well in all the tests
Acceptable – Could go ether way…but in most cases it passed
Failed – Did not work or only worked 1 out of 10 times…the tests were run
Not Tested – Has yet to be requested or there is some limitations to prevent accurate test results
Undetermined – Too soon to tell or lacking evidence to provide a solid answer

Stability of Program - Passed – No issues with stability this time around @ least from our tests
Number of times that AVG Free has been compromised by Hacker or Virus – Passed – A clean bill of health so far
Speed of Scan – Acceptable – Less file types to scan = faster over all scans. Still not sure about the files that AVG./Grisoft downgraded to not essential to overall PC safety.
Does AVG do automatic updates by itself with out issue – Acceptable – Yes and no, there seems to be some secret file updates. That AUTOMATIC update refuses to do such as upgrading to this version (9.0.801)
Residential Shield Test – Acceptable – Better this time around. But AVG still tends to pick up the virus after infections already has occur.
Internet Browser Cookie Detection and Removal Test – Passed - AVG Free has remained the same in detection rate at this time around. Also the default of AVG Free still appears to not detect Internet cookies. Without you changing your main AVG Free default settings.
Spyware/Adware – Failed – There is no surprise here AVG Free seems to miss pretty much every type of Spyware or Adware we tested it against. We still feel that saying AVG Free is also a adware/spyware program as well as a virus program is a hard pill to swallow, at least at this point in AVG Free development. I would stick to a dedicated program such as Spybot – Search and destroy.
Root Kit Detection Rate - Acceptable – Passed buy just barely
Win 7/Vista / XP Virus detection rate test – Win 7 Passed /VISTA Passed / XP Passed - Across the board the detection rate has remained the same.
Link Scanner/ Safe Search – Failed – We found no real good reason to use this option. (But I still personally find it slows down what ever browser you are using)
E-mail scanner – Acceptable – I still feel the e-mail scanner is way more of a hassle, then being of any use.
