Targus Notebook Cooling Chill Mat (AWE11CA) – Product Review

August 17, 2009

Targus Notebook Cooling Chill Mat # AWE11CA

Con’s:

- Gets dusty really quickly

- Takes up a USB PORT

- A USB cable that could be longer

- Not at all comfortable when places on your lap

- Need a really stable surface

Pro’s

- Pretty cheap $9.99 – $19.99 USD

- Easy to find on sale

- Super easy to use

- Very durable

- Can be left on 24/7

- Easy on/off switch

- Get better laptop performance with it on left for only 30 or 40 min

I give it 3 out of 5 – The 2 main reasons for the score are there are only 2 fans and needs a very stable solid surface to keep proper air flow

Sony MDR-NC5 Noise Canceling Headphones – Product Review

August 14, 2009

Dear Readers,

(Last Updated Aug 13, 2009 @ 2:23 am EST) RR V2.0

Now You Can Follow The Computer Savvy Weblog Via Twitter: https://twitter.com/Computer_Savvy

Today I’m going to review a first generation noise canceling headphones…..

Con’s

- Not Dj style (depends on preference of course)

- Sometimes noise canceling feature only makes it louder depends on media source

- Does sometimes have to much static with the noise canceling feature turned on

- Cord way to short about 6 feet that would be alright in most cases. But it has an angeled head instead of straight head so it takes off a few inches and makes it hard to fit some adapters.

Pro’s

- Only needs 1 AAA battery

- Battery lasts really long time

- Really crisp sound

- great stereo sound

- Blocks out-side sound really well

- Comes with multi-heads for airplane with the older head-phone ports. The newer version comes with the i-pod adapter.

- Tight connection goes in flush

- Gold plated head

I give it a 2.5 out of 5 - Because I like the DJ style it is way better in noise reduction or canceling for the obvious reasons. It fits over the ear but saying that it is really good for most media sources that you don’t have to be too far away from like a laptop. But it will give you problems if you need a straight connector head and not one on an angle. For an example it will not work well with most Mp3 mobile phones because it will get tangled and reduce the length of the total cord.

TARGUS DEFCON 1 ULTRA (PA400) V3.0 – Full Product Review

August 14, 2009

Dear Readers,

(Last Updated Aug 14, 2009 @ 2:18 am EST) RR V2.0

Now You Can Follow The Computer Savvy Weblog Via Twitter: https://twitter.com/Computer_Savvy

Here is my review of  the TARGUS DEFCON 1 -ULTRA- (PA400) V3.0 – First off most of the TARGUS DEFCON locks in this series are pretty much the same. I have about 12 different version they all the look the same and do pretty much the same thing.

CON’s

- With over 100 db range it is a sure thing this will make you loss some of your hearing if you have prolong exposure to it

- It comes with a cube adaptor to attach the device to your laptop. Which is flimsy and very very easy to break off. The adaptor does not fit really any laptop I’ve tried it on securely.

- Most public places will fine you if it did go off (Much louder then 99% of car alarms)

- It sounds like a air raid siren (After a few seconds you’ll want to shoot yourself in the head or jab a knife in your ears.

- It’s way to sensitive to use for any type of travel. Unless you want to be grabbed by security

- Very thin cable

- Very poor for any common use to secure laptop (in fact I don’t see any use that this would be good for..AVOID)

Pro’s

- Pretty cheap

- Easy to encode your password or change password

- Long battery life

- No special battery’s only 3 AAA

Final review I give this 1 out of 5 – Just for the fact that if you want to get noticed by law enforcement for what appears to be stealing a computer with this device on it or trying to set it up or just because you think leaving the alarm on your suitcase at an airport. Your in for some serious complication and very panicked people. DON’T USE THIS IN PUBLIC PLACES…..AVOID IT……IF YOU WANT TO USE IT ONLY IN A PRIVATE RESIDENCE AND NOT SHARED HOUSING Or you’ll have really pissed of tenet’s trust me on that one (SORRY TARGUS YOU ARE A REALLY GOOD COMPANY…. BUT WHAT WERE YOU THINKING)

Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000 – Product Review

August 13, 2009

Dear Readers,

Now You Can Follow The Computer Savvy Weblog Via Twitter: https://twitter.com/Computer_Savvy

(Updated Aug 13, 2009 @ 3:36 pm EST) RR V2.0

Hello, everyone today I’m going to review the Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000

Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000

Con’s

- Very short Range, and Speakers Can block or interfere with signal

- No way to tell your battery is almost dead

- May be confusing on what way to put in battery in

- Button to open to put in battery gets stuck and breaks really easy

- Can not be opened – to clean

- No switch to turn off mouse to save power

Pro’s

- Long battery life (3 months)

- Only need one AA battery

- Don’t need to install software

- Very good sensitivity

- Great shape and size

- Rubber texture

- Good for Right or Left Handed people

- Very Easy to set up

- Great Price about $20 bucks MSRP

- Has a slot on the bottom side to hold the USB key for the mouse

- Very Easy To clean outside

I give the Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000 a 3 out of 5 – (Just because the button to open up the mouse to install battery breaks and or get stuck every once and a while) to fix the button stuck issue)

To fix issue – All you have to do is use a paper clip or a small screw driver to pop out the button…

Hope you enjoyed this post,

Q+A: How Do You Un-install CounterSpy Trailware From My Computer ?

August 13, 2009

Dear Readers,

Now You Can Follow The Computer Savvy Weblog Via Twitter: https://twitter.com/Computer_Savvy

Q: How Do You Un-install CounterSpy Trailware From My Computer ?

A: Well it is very strange but for some reason it will not uninstall from your computers control panel regardless of if you have  XP or VISTA.

The only way I could Un-install CounterSpy was to re-launch the same version install file and use the REMOVE/Un-install option.

EXTRA NOTE: Sometimes it will remove itself after you launch the same version install file. Then click yes then Re-start your computer
