A: I have found at least to ways to remove said AVG Free Toolbar. Just follow one of these 2 fixes and you should be AVG Toolbar Free.
Fix 1 : To remove the AVG Toolbar
A. Re-run the AVG install file
B. Then select Add/Remove components and then when the wizard gets to the option
C. Un-select it and then and then complete the wizard.
D. This will require that you update AVG Yet again.
Fix 2: To remove the AVG Toolbar
A. Open FireFox 3
B. Open the Tools option
C. Choose Add-ons
D. New Window will open up
E. Go to AVG Toolbar
F. Click Disable
G. Re-start Browser
H. Toolbar should be gone (But be aware it is not deleted it is still there just not de-activated)

Dear paulo,
Sorry not really sure what you are asking….

c’mon, your solutions are mostly like spraying Fabreeze or setting off a Glade bomb to “clean” the air or teaching Porky Pig to sing “Blue Christmas”;
there have to be some key files that when deleted will remove the toolbar without having to go through the exercise of putting AVG back on your system;
i spent six hours getting AVG off my system when i switched to my ISP virus protection–the uninstall only partially removes it and is prone to crashes;
surely there is a better solution.
Dear dreameagle,
Well you are right on…there should be a painless way to remove AVG PERIOD 100% and there is a method via The AVG Free website. But even I have found it does not always do the trick. I personally use my own removal programs and an registry scanner/fixer to get rid of the left overs. Now I freely admit AVG Period seems to be a very sloppy installer and un-installer.
There are a few ways to get rid of AVG 100%….here are some of the links to said solutions….
