Core: Incremental definition distribution optimization.
Kernel: Fixed unnecessary error reporting on license verification when the AVI loader driver is in error state.
Kernel: AVG configuration access optimized.
Localization: AVG newly localized into Chinese.

uTorrent 1.8.2 – P2P Software Review

Today I’m going to review uTorrent .to start off. I would like to say this is by far my favorite P2P program because it is easy to use and so far other then a few very minor but obvious virus I have had new issues. There is also a lot better sourcing as compared to say Bearshare or LimeWire. You should still read the comments before downloading as with any P2P software application. There are tricks to uTorrent like you have to find a reliable torrent resource site some of these are like Piratebay, Minnnova, torrentspy, ISO HUNT, My bitorrent,  pointblank. My favorite of all the search engines is ISO HUNT and next in line is Minnova. I pretty much can find anything I want it could be anything from movies, musi, e-books, and or software what ever you want or even could ever want. I can promise you’ll find a listing for it…now there may not be any sources or it could be fake…but your more then likly find it…listed…

Cost of use : Free other then Internet connection cost

Ease of use : Very easy

Compatibility : Window’s 2000, XP, Vista

CPU usage : Very Low

I give uTorrent a 4.5 out of 5 for the 1.8.2 version of the software due to a small learning curve and the very important fact you need to find a good Torrent search site.

Extra info : uTorrent takes up very little resources on your computer. Thou from time to time some of my tests came back a little bit of a slow down as well as extra loading time..if you are the Internet at the same time. You can download uTorrent at http://www.utorrent.com/ no worries it is not bundled with any spyware or adware.

AVIRA Free Anti-Virus Version (9.0.403) Full Review

THE FOLLOWING ARE TESTS, THAT HAVE BEEN DONE AND THE  RESULTS….

Results breakdown:

Passed – Did well in all the tests

Acceptable – Could go ether way…but in most cases it passed

Failed – Did not work or only worked 1 out of 10 times…the tests were run

- Stability of Program – Passed – Did not have any issues

- Number of time the program has been compromised by Hacker or Virus - Failed - (2 major virus attacks & 1 Major Hijack or Hack Attack) …The 2 virus attacks which attacked AVIRA only and not any other program or virus scan and 1 AVIRA Free Anti-Virus Hijack or Hack attempt.** This is a tough one because there has been some major issues with this version over the last month or so in regards to major viruses such as the “Win32/Polycrypt” as well as the “HACKTOOL.”

So this time AVIRA fails because of the 3 times AVIRA FREE ANTI-VIRUS was 100% completely compromised to the point of going back to a last Window’s RESTORE POINT or Un-Installing AVIRA then RE-Installing AVIRA all together..

- Speed of Scan – Passed – Way better then AVG, AVAST and PC Tools Free Anti-Virus

- Does AVIRA do automatic updates by itself - Acceptable – There has been some major issues as of  late with automatic updates. Not to mention there is still the nag or ad screen showing up every few updates

- Residential shield test – Acceptable – Has some very minor detection rate issues…but you can’t get much better then AVIRA or AVAST

- Internet Browser Cookie detection and removal test – Failed – You have to change default setting to even pick up one Internet cookie.

-  Spyware/Adware – Failed – Seems to have missed every types of Spyware/Adware I tested it with..180souloutions, weatherbug, Zango and many many more…

- Root Kit detection Rate - Acceptable – AVIRA detected 2 out of 5 Root Kit multiplier virus

- Vista / XP Virus detection rate test – VISTA Passed / XP Passed -  The same detection rate  across the boarded regardless of operating system.

- Link Scanner/ Safe Search – Not Available

-  E-mail scanner – Not Available

**Like always the results speak for itself…but as always I leave the final test up to you guys….

Over All Rating: 4 Passed, 3 Acceptable, 3 Failed (Total # of tests done 10)

Sony PSP Extended Life Battery Kit – Accessories Review

Well it has been a long time coming for me. You get a PSP and thous you start looking high and low for a battery to keep it chugging a long like the good little portable gaming unit it is.

Well like me, you probably figured out the battery drains pretty darn quickly and you seem are more tethered by the AC cord. Then the life of the standered PSP-2000 battery…

So now on with the review:

Ok, so you want a longer lasting battery. But this battery yes it does give you an extra 2-4 hours of supposed play. But for the price of $39.99 – $59.99 is a very high price to pay for a very minor increase in gameplay. That personally I really did not even notice in the first place and now you can get a lot larger batteries for a lot cheaper. Yes you still need the extended battery cover. But you can pick up one of thous very cheap.

I would avoid this if you can. I personally needed a new battery ASAP and could not wait and thous got robbed blind…BY SONY

- PRICE: $39.99 – $59.99 MSRP

- Not made for Slim PSP-2001 or PSP-3000

- Awkward extended battery cover

- I did not really notice a huge difference in extra gameplay

- Battery cover does not come in other then Black and White

Pro’s

- It is SONY and no worries about fake batteries that will wreak you PSP (Compared as to risking your PSP’s safety on a counterfeit battery from E-Bay)

- It does give you some more time with your PSP

- It is a good replacement

- You get 2 extra battery covers – one white and one black

Se7en Recommendation : Buy the battery cheap from someone still trying to clear out their PSP-1000 AKA PSP-FAT stock.  Because that is the battery they are trying to sell to you and buy the battery cover in the colour you really want Via e-Bay.

New Version Of LimeWire (5.1.4) Available To Download @ Download.com

OK people I keep on getting asked a lot…you have to first install the 8.5.374 version of AVG Free Anti-Virus First then you can update th 8.5.375 afterwards..it is not available anywhere else at this time….

AVIRA Anti-Virus Picks Up Mysterious Virus Called “HACKTOOL” Which Infects Every Aspect Of AVIRA Free Anti-Virus

Ok, I reported on a different but very similar virus before…Here is the link New Version Of AVIRA Update Virus (Win32/Polycrypt) Causes Users To Delete Then Re-install AVIRA

Ok, now I got this virus on several computers in my house warning me there were over 155 infected files all of which were AVIRA SYSTEM FILES …I still have no idea where I got it from..seriously but here is the catch it attacks the whole AVIRA Free Anti-Virus system folder. This type of virus “HackTool or HACK TOOL” ok now I know this type of virus really well. This type of virus normally normally what is says a “HACK TOOL” which could be a key-gen or root-kit hack. But this type of virus is self-inflicted. (Example You have to download and run it yourself to cause any type of infection or attack to your computer.) Now this virus does not and even get picked up by AVG. But AVIRA Free Anti-Virus does pick it up via residential shield as well as during the Automatic Scan . AVIRA or AVG Free will not pick it after you quarantine the files or place them in your Virus Vault. After that action is preformed the files just up and disappear all together. They were picked up before but now both AVIRA and AVG failed to catch the virus even thou the option to place them in the Virus Vault or Quarantine was giving. Then in both cases the files mysteriously disappeared from every where both reports show nothing as well as well as the scan reports are apparently virus free. A very very bad sign with any virus I assure you…

1. Q: What does “HackTool or HACK TOOL” do ?

A: This virus infects every AVIRA Free Anti-Virus file on your computer. In some extreme cases it will prevent AVIRA Free from working even after un-installing all together, then re-installing

2. Q: Ok, how do I get rid of “HackTool or HACK TOOL” Virus ?

A: 1. If you have a Registry Fixer/Scanner run said program twice. I recommend anything PC Tools….You should be looking for anything that comes up red in the “shared .DLL or .EXE category“. It will not always show up unless it is a really bad infection…

1A. Remove all of AVIRA Free Anti-Virus using a new fresh install file. I would recommend this direct download link for AVIRA FREE Anti-Virus link www.download.com

2. Re-start your computer

3. Re-install AVIRA with newly downloaded AVIRA Free Anti-Virus installation file.

4. Re-start computer (not needed by program but a good to do regardless)

5. Try to update AVIRA (Will take awhile you have a lot of files to update..Took me up to an hour, in somes cases)

6. Make sure to go to the Administration section and check off the box that says scan computer

6A. Also makes sure you change the times to something you’ll be happy with.

7. Your done. Leave AVIRA to run and update automatically after that…you should be good.

7A. If AVIRA does not automatically scan or update. Un-install AVIRA again and install AVAST or AVG.
