False Low System Health WARNING When Using “PC Tools: Registry Maestro 3.0″

Dear Readers,

It seems that the new PC tools: Registry Maestro 3.0 gives off a false LOW SYSTEM HEALTH WARNING..even thou your system is fine and there is no issue…I have tracked down the issue to 2 programs one is the new IE 8 and the other is Tune Up Utilities 2009 I’m Not sure why there is this issue but I’ll  keep you posted…

New Update Available For Avira Anti-Virus Version (9.0.0.394)

I got a surprise today..when I logged on to my computer…there was a new major update to AVIRA free anti-virus…which required a full computer re-start as always I’ll keep you guys posted…So far the new update is not available @ download.com..but when it is I’ll post it…

I’ll be doing a full review and report card just like I do for AVG…

AVG, AVAST And AVIRA Make Up The Top 3 Most Downloaded Programs @ Download.com

Dear Readers,

Well…as always…I pretty much figured that well one of the most important programs to have is well as we all probably know by now is a virus program…and this week it appears..now the www.download.com ..finally seems to show that trend of ppl deciding to use the free Virus scan programs instead of shelling out $15-$200 to purchase a full service virus program. That just ends up slowing your computer down…..

-  Just a heads up to the to ppl that I know will disagree with me about paid virus scans slowing your computer….People I have tested them at least main stream paid virus scans and it is fact at least from my tests...- Now that I said that enjoy the rest of my post… :)

I can imagine this trend will continue into the for see-a-ble future….

as it stands right now..as always AVG Free is on top of the pile with 2,089,086 downloads

AVAST Home Finally takes the second place with 726,891 downloads and a total switch is AVIRA Free with 695,028 downloads

Blog Update #58 – Computer Savvy Weblog Moves Up To 10 Points of Authority @ Technorati.com

Well first off I wanted to say…thanks to you guys..Computer Savvy Weblog has gained another point of authority @ Technorati.com…so for thous that were not following we are up to 10..we still have a long way….but it is a very good sign….

AVAST Moves Up To 3rd Most Downloaded Program @ download.com

Well it is that time again were AVAST’s makes a break for the top spot…as the most downloaded program on www.download.com.

AVAST moved from 4th to 3rd position in about the last week or so…Well done AVAST you have deserved this for as long as I can remember…

All I have to say about AVAST is that is seemed to move for the last little while be moving up and down for no real apparent reason..I can figure out. I have seen AVAST hover around the 5th and 6th most download programs..it even reached at one time the 7th and 8th postion but only for a short time. Which to me is really really sad..to say the very least..for such a great free Anti-Virus program. It has everything you could want…. I figure the reason for the poor over all download rating to be based on AVAST not huge major updates and rebuilds like AVG and more recently AVIRA…

Q+A: How Do I Scan For Internet Cookies Using AVG Free Anti-Virus 8.0/8.5 ?

Welcome to yet another edition of Computer Savvy’s Q+A 2.0…..Todays question is yet another AVG Free Q…..so now on to the good stuff.

Q: How do I Scan For Internet Cookies Using AVG Free Anti-Virus 8.0/8.5 ?

A: Well, first of AVG FREE 8.5.406 already scans for the most common Internet Cookies….but if you want it to scan for all cookies follow the following steps…

1. Right click on AVG 8./8.5 tray icon (Which is right beside your clock…the location will be the same for both Vista and XP)

2. Click on Open AVG user interface

3.  Go to the top section and choose TOOLS…which is the second last option

4. Click on ADVANCED SETTINGS

5. Go to the first + sign called SCANS

6. Click

7. Go thought each section and pick SCAN FOR TRACKING COOKIES for the desired scan types you want…

8. CLICK APPLY then OK

9. Your Done…..

>>>You can do the same thing under the RESIDENTIAL SHIELD sub-section but it tends to slow down things when surfing the Internet<<<

• Fixed an issue where, starting with Firefox 3.0.7, inline image attachments on popular webmail services (like AOL and AIM) would not display. (bug 482659)
• Large forms would sometimes take a long time to submit. (bug 426991)
• In certain cases, new windows would not have proper focus. (bug 446568)
