AVG Free 8.0.233 is fixed with new patch update from AVG/Grisoft website….

Dear Readers,

It appers that AVG/Grisoft has fixed the issues with installing it….the new AVG Free 8.0.233 on both Vista and Xp…Well done AVG…Still gonna run my normal tests….

Ad-Aware Anniversary Edition 8.0 – Freeware Review

Here is my full review on the New Ad-Aware Anniversary Edition 8.0….enjoy

AA. Cost: Free

BB. Is it worth that cost ?: Ya sort of

1. Ease of use – Easy – it has very large icons..to guide you…

1a. Interface - Pretty easy and simple to use

2. Quality of scan – Pretty good detection rate

2A. Speed of Scan – way way too slow

3. Updating – no slow and not really fast…..

4. Can you run other programs during the scan ? Yes…but sometimes, it will cause to crash…

4a. Can you run programs during update ? Yes

5. Is there a progress bar? No

6. Can you leave it running and it will run with out issue ? Yes…in most cases

7. Is there adware or Spyware bundled with it ? yes…some adware/spyware was picked up….still not able to verify this…

8. Will it scan archive files ? Not sure

9. Is it stable ? sometimes it will glitch out….and then you wil not be able to go back to the main scan..very strange

10. How long do scans take ? 15 mins – 3 hrs

Over all a 3.5 out of 5 stars – This program needs a lot of work still….there are some major scanning issues…that can cause you to think the scan has finished..or program will just crash..and you don’t even know of that fact….

New AVG Free 8.0.233 Fails to install on Vista

Dear Readers,

I have tried to install AVG FREE NEW version / Update 8.0.233 on my Vista computer and it has failed 30 times in a row…

I am looking into why..and even have removed all other virus scans off my computer yet it still fails each time..Will let you guys know if the same happened on Windows X…

I have been picked up by Google more and more each day…and just by your e-mails and comments it seems that a lot of the keywords like jenny show scam , hotmail scam and paypal scam…have almost tripled in just the past 2 weeks…..thanks guys …..II really work hard on my updates and new scam watches….updates all the time…

Windows Live Messenger 9 – Software Review

Ok, probably like me you had no idea there was a new VISTA-FIDE version of our Favorite Instant massager program

WLM 9 = WINDOWS LIVE MASSAGER 9

AA. Cost: FREE

1. Ease of use – Harder then Version 8 – It has ton of new options…your gonna need to give ago to see if u like it or not…

1a. Interface - I find it a lot more complicated then WLM 8

2. Quality Program -Less Effective Then WLM 8 – It seems some WEBCAMS will not work with WLM 9..it and it does not like other Instant messenger programs….ICQ, AIM

3. Speed of Sign in – Pretty Slow…..

4. Can you run other programs while running WLM 9 ? Yes

5. Can you leave it running and it will run with out issue ? Yes

6. Is there adware or Spyware bundled with it ? Yes more then I care to deal with…can we say ad over load….

7. Is it stable ? on VISTA ..so far yes..on XP..not really

Over all a 2 out of 5 stars- Do not download this program because there is no way to un-install it is you have issues AVOID IT>>>>

PC Tools: Registry Mechanic 8.0 – Software Review

I came across this program…and ran it through it’s paces….it is worth all you pennys

AA. Cost: $29.95 USD

BB. Is it worth that cost ?: Yes

1. Ease of use – Very Easy – It has six main Icon Buttons

1a. Interface - Very easy and simple to use…everything is simple and pretty much one button activation

2. Quality of scan -Very Effective – It does seem to have some issue with Media players..like BS PLAYER PRO and VLC…it seems the extensions as a false Registry error

2A. Speed of Scan – Super fast

3. Updating – Super Fast

4. Can you run other programs during the scan ? Yes

4a. Can you run programs during update ? Yes

5. Is there a progress bar? Yes

6. Can you leave it running and it will run with out issue ? Yes

7. Is there adware or Spyware bundled with it ? Nope none that I could find

8. Will it scan archive files ? N/A

9. Is it stable ? Yes very stable..but is is for Vista Not XP

10. How long do scans take ? 10 min

Over all a 4.5 out of 5 stars- there are some issue if you install this on XP and there are some setting that could make your computer crash if you don’t know what you are doing…

Extra info: This program is build for Vista…even thou it says it can also be used for XP…don’t bother

Auslogics BoostSpeed 4.2.8.178 – Software Review

I can across this program…and ran it through it’s paces….it is worth all you pennys

1. Ease of use – Very Easy – This program has a lot of layers but pretty much you run the 3 main programs and your done

1a. Interface - Very easy and simple to use…everything is simple and pretty much one button activation

2. Quality of scan – Moderately Effective….it does seem to have minor issues….like detecting issues with registry that are not there..and could do a better job at disk clean up….

3. Updating – Super Fast

4. Can you run other programs during the scan ? Yes

4a. Can you run programs during update ? Yes

5. Is there a progress bar? Yes

6. Can you leave it running and it will run with out issue ? Yes

7. Is there adware or Spyware bundled with it ? Nope none that I could find

8. Will it scan archive files ? Not sure

9. Is it stable ? Yes..but it doe seems to have minor glitcy interface if you are running media players..but not very often

10. How long do scans take ? Super fast

Over all a 4 out of 5 stars- Sometimes scan turn up nothing when there is issues and sometimes it picks up issues when there are none…

Extra info: This program works better on Vista…but Running it on XP won’t hurt any….
