AVAST: Not as easy as AVG. But it is still rather easy to pick up and understand.

AVG 9: Very Easy

- Is It Reliable ?

AVAST: Yes

AVG 9: Yes, most of the time

- How Long Does It Take To Scan ?

AVAST: About 30 min – 2hrs (Average)

AVG 9: About 45 min – 2hrs (Average)

- Does It Have A Progress Bar Or % Done ?

AVAST: Yes, % complete

AVG 9: Nope

- Does It Have An Active Residential Shield ?

AVAST: Yes

AVG 9: Yes

- How Good Is The Residential Shield ?

AVAST: Excellent detection rate way better then any version of AVG

AVG 9: Does detect some viruses before it infects your computer. But no where as good as AVAST by a long shot

- Does It Have A Browser Cookie Scanner ?

AVAST: Not sure

AVG 9: Not really

- How Good Is The Cookie Detection Rate ?

AVAST: Not sure

AVG 9: AVG has terrible cookie detection rate

AVAST: Yes

- How Easy Is It To Get And To Read The Reports Or Results ?

AVAST: A lot more complicated then AVG

- Ability To Catch Viruses That Other Programs Don’t Catch

AVAST: Extremely good – second best on Cnet’s Current list of most downloaded programs
